Racing

Racing has become so popular and something we as a family look forward to every summer.  We have participated in some fun races and things I would have never dreamed about doing a few years back!  Todd and I recently ran in the M.A.D. Half Marathon.  We did this race last year, they messed up the course and we had to run an extra 2 miles so this year they offered the race to us at half price so we signed up, but wasn't sure if we would really participate.  Anyway, we ran it but we didn't spend much time training and preparing for it this year, none the less we finished and had fun.
This week it was the kids turn.  They raced in the Rexburg Youth River Rock Triathlon.  Braeden and Carson participated in the Elite race which is timed and for kids 10-18.  Braeden took first place!!! Ashlynn and Analee participated in their age groups with shortened distances and just for fun!  This is the second year for this race, what a great experience for them.  They have lots of cousins that do it with them too.  So fun!!  Tyson doesn't care for the swimming part so he opted to sit out this year.

Bear World

We went to Bear World a couple weeks ago.  We haven't been there since they first opened years ago.  It is soooo much better now, they have added so much we spent 4 hours in the heat playing there.  We saw so many animals while driving thru the park, we rode the truck out to feed the bears, visited the petting zoo, ate snow cones, went on all the rides and took lots of pictures!
Fun, summer day!!!

Lists. . . . .

I have to admit I am a list person.  I make lists for everything.  We started our summer off with 3 main lists.  (I have to add small ones daily!)  The kids do a great job in the summer with their Jobs, so we had to make a job list for them.  I use the same list every week, we just change the names every Monday.  Then because the kids can do all the surface work I made my own Summer Job List with the things I would like to get done.  But we have to have fun too, so this year we created an ABC list with mostly fun things to do, but have something to work toward and can keep better track of all the fun things we do!  As you can see we have made a dent in all 3 lists and they have been helpful for us to have a successful summer.  We have also done lots of things not on our ABC list so I guess we have 4 lists. The last one is us keeping track of all the "extras" we have done, it has more on it than the actual ABC list!  We have been out of school for 5 weeks and I have not heard one of my kids say they are bored.
I love it.

Backyard

We have worked really hard on the yard this last month, and now it is time to sit back and just enjoy it and that's exactly what we are doing.  We are enjoying the green grass, the beautiful flowers, the fruit and vegetables, the shade of the trees and the fresh air of being outside.  I gave Todd a couple hammock chairs for fathers day, I have never seen him outside so much.  I have learned when he disappears to just check outside in his hammock and there I find him!  We are loving our yard!!!
