Caution Ahead

Braeden passed all the required tests and received his drivers license yesterday.  I can't believe it.  How can this happen, how can they grow up so quickly?  I am excited for him to be able to get himself to where he needs to be, but already driving?  If I could only slow down time.  I get anxiety just thinking about the sad reality of only having 3 years left with him.  There is so much to teach, so much to do, so much to see, where to start?
He is on cloud 9, got to pick up Tyson from school yesterday all by himself!  Then got to bring all the kids to meet Todd and I for dinner last night!  And today, the last day of JR High, he got to drive himself!
We are so proud of him, he is such a great "Big" brother.  So exciting for a 15 year old, and so much more to look forward to in the next years to come!

Memorial Day

Today was a perfect day.  So relaxing yet we got so much accomplished.

We cleaned the flower beds and dug out the dead bushes.  Tyson couldn't quite get this bush out!

We cut off all the low branches from the trees.

I transplanted the squash and pumpkin plants from the green house and put up the fence for the peas.

The boys built a fire for our dinner, this is our memorial day camping dinner in our back yard!  My favorite way to camp :-)

Cheese Hot Dogs, chips and snicker salad!
And smores for desert!

Father and Sons Campout

Todd and the boys love Father and Son's campout.  As they were getting ready to leave this year I told them they needed to take the camera so they will always be able to remember the fun times they had.  They all told me they don't need the camera, they have all the memories they need in their heads!  I made them take it anyway and I love being able to see what they do when they are away!

Getting ready to leave!
They always get caramel corn for campouts!
Going on a hike

Such a great picture of my boys!

Talent Show!

I love talent shows!  Our school puts on a talent show at the end of every school year.  The 5th and 6th graders are the only ones allowed to try out.  Carson is a 5th grader and tried out for two this year.  He made both!  First he sang the song "We'll be a Dream" by We the Kings.  He did amazing!  Next he sang the "Scout Song" with three other 5th graders.  They learned this song in TaVaci (a singing group they are all in!)  It was a fun talent show.  I am always impressed at how brave these kids are to get up in front of the entire school!

Green Thumb?

I have always loved to garden, but I have not always been successful at it.  Out of 16 years of marriage I have only gotten things to grow the last two years.  Finally I say, why did it take me so long to figure it out?  With the great spring weather we have had this year I decided to plant early and just "see" what happened.  And so far so good!  Take a look at my garden so far. . . .

This was my green house one month ago

This is my green house now!

Squash

Pumpkins
Tomatoes

There are actually tomatoes already!

I also planted the hearty stuff too! (Outside) Onions

Peas

Potatoes

And new this year: Blueberry Bushes

Peach tree

Strawberries

and Raspberries

I can not wait for everything to start producing in the next few years.  I love garden fresh fruits and veggies!  I also got the beans, carrots, cilantro and chives planted this week.  I am hopeful for a very successful garden again this year!  I might even be getting a green thumb?

Vacation

I have to say I love to travel.  I love it all, the planning, the booking, the anticipation of the travel date and most of all the vacation.   Our most recent vacation was a 5 Day Disney Cruise to the Bahamas and 4 Days in Orlando.  It was wonderful.  I have so many great memories growing up from the vacations we went on and I love creating the same for my kids.
Picture with Minnie before getting on the Ship

Derby race on the Ship, we got 15 minutes to make a car out of a potato and carrot and we raced against other families! (Ours is on the left)

Pirate night on the Ship with our waiter and waitress.

There were so many fun activities on the ship.  We had a tea party with Alice and the Mad Hatter.  It was soooo cute.  The girls loved it.

Just a great picture with the family and our Ship!

When we stopped at Castaway Cay it was raining, but we still ran in the Castaway Club 5K!

Biking around the Castaway Cay Island.  We didn't let the rain stop us, we just rode around in all the puddles!

We went to Sea World for a couple hours each day we were in Orlando.  It was perfect, our resort was 1/4 mile away so we would go in the afternoon when everyone else was leaving.  We enjoyed all the shows, roller coasters, dippin dots and cotton candy! However Braeden did lose his phone on the Crackn (roller coaster) it slipped right out of his pocket!

Day at Discovery Cove.  What a fun day.  The reef was amazing.  Thousands of fish, huge sting rays (did I say huge?), eels, lobsters and sharks.  Some were behind glass walls but we got some great pictures, you can't even tell there is glass!

We got to swim with the dolphins.  It was so fun, we learned a lot about them.  Got to pet them, kiss them, give commands, play with them and ride on them!

We also celebrated Analee's 5th Birthday while in Orlando.  Super fun day at Discovery Cove and went Downtown Disney to have Dinner at T-Rex.  Can't believe my baby is 5!

The kids were great, no complaining, they got along and loved everything we did.  That makes the vacation even more enjoyable!  These are only a few of the favorite pictures.  The whole 10 days was great and we loved having Grandma and Grandpa Pincock with us.
Now, I can't wait to start planning the next great adventure!!!!!!
